AFS measurements: V6
AFS voltage table (Signal output at terminal 7)
| Flap posn. | AFS1 (front) | AFS2 (rear) |
| Ignition on | 0.20 - 0.30 | 0.20 - 0.30 |
| Idle | 1.00 - 1.20 | 0.40 - 0.50 |
| 2000 rpm | 1.70 - 1.90 | 1.30 - 1.50 |
| Snap accelerate | 3.00 - 4.50 | 3.00 - 4.50 |
| Fully open | 4.50+ | 4.50+ |
AFS multi-plug
AFS resistance table
| AFS1 | ECM | Flap posn. | Res.(ohms) |
| 7 and 6 | 27 and 46 | Closed | 45 - 125 |
| 7 and 6 | 27 and 46 | Fully open | less than 2100 |
| 7 and 9 | 27 and 26 | Closed | 250 - 360 |
| 7 and 9 | 27 and 26 | Fully open | below 2100 |
| AFS2 | ECM | Flap posn. | Res.(ohms) |
| 7 and 6 | 43 and 46 | Closed | 45 - 125 |
| 7 and 6 | 43 and 46 | Fully open | below 2100 |
| 7 and 9 | 43 and 26 | Closed | 250 - 360 |
| 7 and 9 | 43 and 26 | Fully open | below 2100 |
Note: all resistance values are approximate. More important than the
actual value is the ability of the AFS to open and close smoothly with a smooth
increase and decrease of the resistance values.
Adjustment
Adjustment is not recommended. However, after prising off the AFS cover, it is
possible to retension the AFS spring. Slacken the two screws and move the
assembly in the appropriate direction to obtain more or less tension.
